The Elbow Valley community is widely regarded as a distinctive, one-of-a-kind place. It was honored as Canada’s Community of the Year in 2002 and 2003. This is a special community and it’s important for you, as a resident, to understand the investment that has been made in it.

The Elbow Valley Community.

At some point in your quest to establish a new home in Elbow Valley, you had possession of, and no doubt read a document called the "The Elbow Valley Open Space Guidelines". Our new, award-winning community on the west edge of Calgary, bounded by the Tsuu T'ina Nation Reserve natural lands and the Elbow River was built with the vision of creating a community that preserved the natural setting in which it has been established.

In order to achieve this vision, careful control was placed on all things that altered the original landscape: the buildings; the waterways; the roads and pathways.

The residents of Elbow Valley, some 700 families, are bound together by their explicit or tacit agreement with the vision of the community set out in this document and by the common, undivided ownership of approximately 600 acres of undeveloped land in this 1000 acre plot.

These open, undeveloped spaces are preserved to maintain the heritage of the natural Alberta foothills landscape.

To carry this vision forward and to maintain this beautiful condominium community, the residents, through your Board of Directors and its committees, have developed procedures to govern conduct within its boundaries as a primary means to achieve this long term vision.
