Jennifer Armand 2017 Recipient of The Linda Knight Award
This year at the 2017 AGM
the Linda Knight Award
was presented to Jennifer
Armand for her outstanding
Volunteer efforts on behalf
of the residents of
Jennifer moved here with her family 15 years ago to raise
her kids amongst the beauty and openness of Elbow Valley,
being able to see her kid’s five houses away was just a part
of the appeal of living here. Jennifer stepped up to volunteer
beginning with the Social Club and it didn’t take long for her
to lend her talents to the Operations Committee developing
some of the user manuals. Her attention to detail and an eye
for the beauty of landscape eventually had her become the
Chairperson of the Landscaping Committee and helped in
coordinating the planting of over 10,000 trees in Elbow Valley
with the Scouts. Jennifer was instrumental in securing the paddle
boats, canoe's and long boats for everyone to enjoy on the lake.
As well as getting the big board on the tennis court for those
without a tennis partner.
Jennifer’s thoughts and ideas on volunteering go back to that old
fashioned community that our parents volunteered in and their
kids grew up in. Neighbors knew one another and were always
talking over the fence or helping each other in any way they could.
That’s what she hopes Elbow Valley is like for all its residents both
young and old. Volunteering exposes you to different experiences
and is so rewarding because you meet so many new people and
develop new friendships.
For Jennifer volunteering means so much, when you give your time
or experience from the heart you can’t go wrong. You always win
either with meaningful friendships or with valuable life lessons.
Thank you Jennifer for all that you do as a volunteer, this award is well
